BOSTON - State Treasurer Deborah B. Goldberg, Chair of the Massachusetts School Building Authority ("MSBA"), and John K. McCarthy, MSBA Executive Director/Deputy CEO, announced today that the MSBA Board of Directors has approved final audits for eleven projects from eight school districts totaling over $150.9 million in grants from the MSBA. The final audit stage is the last step in the MSBA building process and represents the successful completion and closeout of these projects.
"Every project undertaken by the MSBA is a step toward creating the 21st century learning environment that all Massachusetts students deserve," Treasurer Goldberg said. "We are delighted to have made these important investments in Massachusetts schools."
The Board approved the final audits for three projects in the MSBA’s Core Program, two Accelerated Repair Program projects, which consist of the repair or replacement of roofs, windows and/or boilers, one project from the Science Labs Initiative project, one Model School Project, and four projects from the Green Repair Initiative program. The combined grant value of these audited projects is $150,902,982.
"We couldn’t have asked for a better success with these projects," Executive Director/Deputy CEO McCarthy said. "The completion of these eleven projects is a further testament to the success of the MSBA’s process of collaboration with Massachusetts school districts."
