MSBA Announces Final Audit of Ten School Projects Totaling over $103.9M

State Treasurer and Receiver General Deborah B. Goldberg, Chair of the Massachusetts School Building Authority (“MSBA”), and Jack McCarthy, MSBA Executive Director, announced that the MSBA Board of Directors has approved final audits for ten projects totaling over $103.9 million in grants from the MSBA. The final audit stage is the last step in the MSBA building process and represents the successful completion and closeout of the projects.

“Every project undertaken by the MSBA is a step toward creating the 21st century learning environment that every Massachusetts student deserves,” Treasurer Goldberg said. “We are delighted to have brought these important investments in Massachusetts schools to a successful conclusion.”

The Board approved final audits of one Green Repair Program project, one major addition and renovation project, five projects for the construction of new schools, and three Accelerated Repair Program projects. The combined grant value of all audited projects was $103,912,037.

“We couldn’t have asked for a better success with these projects,” Executive Director McCarthy said. “The completion of these ten projects is a further testament to the success of the MSBA’s process of collaboration with Massachusetts school districts.”

The MSBA partners with Massachusetts communities to support the design and construction of educationally appropriate, flexible, sustainable and cost-effective public school facilities. Since its 2004 inception, the Authority has made over 1,500 site visits to more than 250 school districts as part of its due diligence process and has made over $11.3 billion in reimbursements for school construction projects.
